“Simple, traditional ideas are great to use at any kind of party- Bite sized hors d’oeuvres are always a crowd pleaser and easy to assemble for the host! Floating candles add elegance and magic to any casual atmosphere and are a fabulous way to light up a room. For dessert, at any party, a make your own sundae table is a unique and friendly element, especially in the summer time! Martha Stewart has some great dessert ideas!”

“Planning a party can often be a lot of work, so having everyone contribute to the food preparation is a great way to lighten the load for the host. This, of course, demands some pre-party organizing as each guest gets a course to prepare themselves and bring to the party. With hors d’oeuvres, a salad, an entrée, dessert, and drinks each guest gets to show off their culinary skills. The holidays are an especially great time for these parties as preparing and cooking for so many people can be a burden. When each course is prepared and adorned by a different person the party takes on an eclectic ambiance! It’s great!”

“A beverage exchange, much like a Secret Santa with beverages as opposed to presents, is a great way to get everyone loosened up and ready to mingle. Each person brings a different bottle of wine or spirit and you go around the room and pick out of the basket of bottles or swap with another person! It’s a lot of fun to see what kind of wines everyone brings and by the end of the exchanging everyone is riled up and ready for some great food and socializing.”

“I think themed parties are great! They incorporate the host decorating, preparing corresponding food and cocktails and of course dressing the part. For the summer, Hawaiian themed parties are always a knock out! Party supply stores like Party City  sell everything you need to have complete themed parties. I think that getting the guests involved creates an incredible ambiance, just right for a great summer get-together.”
